Mathyn holds a PhD from the University of Oslo, specializing in health economic evaluation.   He has published several articles on uncertainty in cost-effectiveness analyses of health technologies, particularly relevant for cancer technology appraisals informed by immature data.   Mathyn has years of experience in performing health technology assessments (HTA) of new pharmaceuticals at the Norwegian Medical Products Agency (DMP). At DMP, he also contributed to the development of guidelines for the submission of HTA documentation, particularly focusing on the extrapolation of survival data. As a researcher at Oslo University Hospital, he has worked on cost-effectiveness analyses and analyses of registry data. Mathyn is also a member of the international research group Collaborative Network for Value of Information (ConVOI).
